Subject: [Masjid Tucson] Submission weekly reminder In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful Peace be upon you, [Quran 3:92] You cannot attain righteousness until you give to charity from the possessions you love. Whatever you give to charity, GOD is fully aware thereof. [Quran 2:272] ... Any charity you give is for your own good. Any charity you give shall be for the sake of GOD. Any charity you give will be repaid to you, without the least injustice. Distribution System for Charities [Quran 9:60] Charities shall go to the poor, the needy, the workers who collect them, the new converts, to free the slaves, to those burdened by sudden expenses, in the cause of GOD, and to the traveling alien. Such is GOD's commandment. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise. The last few weeks have seen heavy rains and floods affect many people around the world. What can we do as Submitters? The answer is simple, we can help and be charitable. One of the first reminders in the Quran is to give to charity (Quran 2:3), and the Quran is full of verses reminding us to give to charity. We give for the sake of God, not seeking worldly recognition (Quran 2:261-272). References Charity and Zakat, http://www.masjidtucson.org/submission/practices/zakat/ Peace.
